The relationship between forces, work and power along with the energy conservation principle is proven in this experiment with the use of the fan cart. Among 4 different trials in part 1, different displacement along x were tested and while displacements were increased, work and power were also increased. Furthermore, in order to measure the forces of an object that moves in a curved path, s spring balance that measures in newton was used to raise the object tied by a string at certain angles from the vertical. Among the 4 different trials in part 2, different angles were tested and while the angles were increased, force also increases thus the work also increases. In the study that is to be expounded in the next sections, the results of part 1, which were displacements their corresponding times, were used to relate force, work and power. From the results of part 2, which were the angles, force and height, were used to find work and prove the Law of Conservation of Energy to the gravitational potential energy of each set-up.

The Experiment 1 is all about Work, Energy and Power. Work is when there is applied force to make an object moves. Power is defined where work is done over the taken time. Energy is something that can be used in different forms and various ways. The first central of point of the experiment is to know the power of the fan cart through the definition of the conservation principle of work and energy. Second is to for the group to know the work done for a motion on a curved path. Last, to see the work and energy of gravitation’s energy.

During the first part of the experiment, we make sure that the dynamics track is totally leveled by placing the fan cart until it stopped moving. Then, we attached a string to the fan cart at one end and having the mass hanger or pan on the other end considering that, the string is passing over a small frictionless pulley. Afterwards, we placed the fan cart, facing its blades on the pulley so that it will move away from where the pan is. While the fan cart is turned on, we put a desired weight that will balance the force exerted by the fan cart and would eventually prevent the cart from moving. We added the weights of the pan together with the attached slotted mass and recorded it as the force of the fan cart. Moving on to the first part of the experiment which is the determination of the time covered by the fan cart, we first remove the attached string in the fan cart and placed the two photo gates at 20 cm and 70 cm mark respectively. We record the time of travel from the smart timer after releasing the cart. We execute five trials but varying a distance of 10cm to each trial. After completing the time travelled on each trial, we solved for work, and average power of the fan cart using equations (1) and (3). Afterwards, we proceed in the second part which was about, work by a force on a curved path. We attached a mass at the end of a string tied to an iron stand and recorded the length of the string (), and initial height (ho) of the mass. We slowly pulled the mass horizontally using the spring balance, having the string as a reference, we then measured the final height (hf) of the mass and recorded the horizontal force (). We did it for another three trials by increasing the height (), until the string is already horizontal. Also, we measured the angle () by using a protractor and the displacement () of the mass using the meter stick from its initial position.
Result and Discussion
The Experiment 1 wants to show the idea of Work, Energy and Power. In the part 1 of the experiment, it shows that when the displacement increases, the work increases as well. It can be seen in the table 1, part 1. In addition, when there is as increase in work, there is an increase in power. In the part 2 of the experiment, it shows that when the angle and height increases, there is more work that will be done on the object.
Work is a little bit similar to power. The Power is defined where work is done over the taken time. The definition of the Power is inclined to its definition which the rate of doing work at specific displacement. It is somehow similar to Work because work has this relation of linear with the displacement. The experiment was done and it shows that when the work increases, the power increases as well. Even if you increase the work twice or thrice, the power follows. On the other side of the experiment, if force is vertical to the displacement, the work will be not get affected by the force. There are some forms only that can be transformed from one to another. Also, it can be seen in the table that when there is an increase in the angle and height, there is more work that will be done on the object. The Experiment is an isolated system; the gravitational potential energy must be equal to the work which shows on the table that we have completed that work is somehow equal to the gravitation potential energy. It may have some differences but the values that were asked were still close.
