British, before November 2, 1917, controlled the Israeli-Palestinian area.
But on the specific date mentioned before, Britain wrote the Balfour Declaration, which had been accidentally been viewed by the citizens as a nation made for only Jews. From 1936 to 1939, Arabs in the area led revolts for their rights, and were mostly shot down by British forces. Seeing Jews as the evil superior, Arabs killed the Jews. The leader, Haj Amin Al-Hussemi, fled to Iraq after the revolt diminished and then fled to Nazi Germany.Soon, The Jews wanted independence from Britain and in May 15, 1948, the War of Independence ended in victory and the Jewish wrote the Declaration of Israel, stating Israel was now a Jewish state. The British left Palestine and soon after the British left, surrounding areas of Muslim communities, like Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon declared war. On April 3, 1949, Israel and the surrounding Arab States agreed to an armistice, giving Israel 50% more land then it had originally received from the UN Partition Plan. However, the borders were never given a clearly established, and due to border raids and closure of Suez and Tiran canal from Israeli shipping, Israel invaded the Sunai peninsula on October 29, 1956 and took control of it for several months, having the French and British by their side.
With people controlling what had originally been theirs, Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser closed the Tiran strait to Israeli shipping and closed communications with the UN.In the same year, Israel and Egypt had the 6-day war, in which the Israeli destroyed the Egyptians and conquered Sinai, Gaza, the West Bank of Jordan and Syria’s Golan Heights. However, the UN resolution 242 required Israel to withdraw from their conquered land, begging for peace. From 1967 to 1972, silence was in the Middle East.
In October 6, 1973, the Egyptians attacked Israel on Yom Kippur, and conquered the Suez Canal, and Golan Heights. The Israelis, with the support of the US, pushed back the Egyptian army from conquering any more land.Fortunately on March 26, 1979, the Peace Treaty was signed between Egypt and Israel. However, on October 6, 1981 the Egyptian president Anwar Sadat was assassinated in a parade, and the conflicts began again. On June 6, 1982, Israel invaded Lebanon to fight the Palestinians against Israel, called the PLO. On September 13, 1993 Israel and PLO agreed to recognition, called the Oslo Declaration of Principles. And in September 28, 1995 the Oslo Interim Agreement was signed, giving Palestinian authority.
