You from 1950s; Hi today I will

You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog Cryin’ all the time Well, you ain’t never caught a rabbit and you ain’t no friend of mine, This song is called Hound dog and made famous by Elvis Presley an American singer from 1950s; Hi today I will be talking about the king of rock and roll’s early life, road to fame, private life, and legacy.  Early life Let me start by telling you about his early life.  Born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi U.S. Elvis had a twin brother, Jessi Garon that was stillborn leaving Elvis as an only child. His early life was quite difficult and often involved him working to help family finances. At ten years of age, Elvis sang ‘old shep” at a youth talent contest at the Mississippi Alabama fair and won the fifth prize.  He picked up music early from local gospel groups and got a guitar at the age of11 instead of the rifle and bike he asked for. Elvis moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1948 and graduated from Humes high school in 1953 there. After graduation, that summer Elvis went to Sun label and recorded a demo of “my happiness”. He only paid 4.00$ for this and gave it to his mother as a birthday present.  Now I would tell you all about his road to fame. It was a bumpy road as you will hear.  Elvis wanted to be a legend since he young, he joined a band named Lauderdale court with 4 other boys. Elvis worked for his fame, he would send Sam Phillips owner of the Sun studio tapes of him performing but was rejected until Sam gave him a chance to sing “without you”. He impressed Sam and Bill Black a bass player. Later they got Elvis to record to see if Elvis was the real deal. After two months Sam was disappointed with what both Black and Elvis had come up with. Then Elvis got the guitar and sang a blues song “that’s all right” and at that moment they found Elvis’s style. It wasn’t until 1956 when he released his song Heartbreak hotel that really started him off.  Now onto his private life and death. Elvis met Priscilla when she was fourteen. At the time Elvis was ten years older and was serving in the army while being stationed in Germany. After eight years they married on May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lisa Marie, daughter of Elvis was later born in 1968, but Priscilla and Elvis did not last and got divorced in 1973. The divorce happened due to infidelities and his drug use. Elvis died on August 16, 1977, in his bathroom at Graceland, Tennessee. HIs cause of death was a heart attack. Here are some fun and interesting facts about Elvis Presley. In 1947, a local radio show offered a young Elvis at age 12 a chance to sing live on air, but he was too shy to go on live. In December 1957, Elvis was drafted into the U.S army. He is one of the best-selling solo artists in history He won three Grammys, also received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at age 36. He has sold over one billion records worldwide.    Finally, His legacy Elvis has sold over150 different albums and singles. With his top 5 hits being Its now or never, jailhouse rock, are you lonesome tonight, a little lessconversation, and the wonder of you. Over 40 years of death but his popularity is very much alive and as influenced when he was alive and still continues to influce todays world. IN memory of the king of rock and roll: Elvis Aaron Presley ” Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine.”.        undefined undefined undefined undefined
